WHO I AM
About Beomsu Chang
I’m a Principal Data Scientist based in Singapore, working at the intersection of industrial AI, simulation, and manufacturing systems. My background spans engineering research, semiconductor manufacturing, university teaching, startup founding, and leading data science teams across different industries and cultures.
I’m not a generalist who dabbles in AI — and I’m not an AI theorist disconnected from physical systems. Most of my work has been about making technology useful in environments where reliability, interpretability, and operational fit matter more than benchmark scores.
This site is where I think out loud: about technology, leadership, the realities of building useful things, and occasionally, life beyond the office.
